Ethics and Religious Education
"I came not to be served but to serve."
"To
LIVE FOR OTHERS", to be a "MAN FOR OTHERS", this is the motto of the
Society of Jesus, which laid the foundation of our school. It is also
the motto for all that the Society of Jesus and her individual members
are doing in today's world.
Since the early times when the Society of Jesus was founded,
she has been pouring her energies into the education of young people with the
aim of forming people who would "live for others". Therefore she did
not only provide a high level of academic excellency, but emphasized the
development of an acute sense for ethics and religion. This is still the
case today.
Our school, based on this educational policy of the
Society of Jesus, focuses in her six years of integrated curriculum on
moral education. In her extra-curricular activities, courses in the study
of the Bible and Introduction into Christianity are also offered. We
try to foster in these classes and activities the ability to think, the
ability to express one's thoughts well, and the ability to put these
thoughts into practice.
A religious and moral education without an intellectual
formation is blind, and an intellectual formation without a sense for
morals and religion is empty. We see our moral and religious education
as something that breathes life into everything else the students learn.
Moral and religious education cannot ignore the influence
of the family. Therefore we offer regular Bible classes for the parents
so that through their understanding of Christianity they may develop better appreciation of
the educational philosophy of the Society of Jesus.
